Letter H, especially in its uppercase form, is among the more straightforward letters to read and write. The /h/ sound is also easy for kids to learn, as it’s unique from all other letters. While kids can learn to write an uppercase with ease, they still need plenty of practice writing both its uppercase and lowercase versions.

A useful tip for youngsters struggling with the lowercase ‘h’ is to think of it as starting like the uppercase H and then adding a “hump.” Conveniently, the word “hump” also begins with an H.
